Lights, signage, shade structures, seating facilities have been planned all along the lakefront promenade – in addition to,
street furniture like maps, signage, trash-bins, visual markers etc.
The design also incorporates storm water management with help of green vegetated swales to filter, slow down, spread and soak the rain failing on the site
The entire water edge is kept natural with aquatic plants, flowers and floating wetlands in the water – all designed to provide natural habitat for plants, fish, and birds.
The lakefront promenade of Periyakulam North is designed to provide for a continuous dedicated car-free cycling track and a pedestrian promenade that is designed for people of all age groups and interests – to be able to come there and enjoy and celebrate the natural heritage of the city.
